In what can only be described as a contemporary African fairytale, Nigerian socialite Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian music star Juma Jux (born Juma Musa Mkambala) are preparing for their grand traditional wedding on April 17, 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria.
With five meticulously staged pre-wedding photoshoots, the couple has built unprecedented hype for their upcoming nuptials, combining both Nigerian opulence with Tanzanian grandeur.
The couple officially tied the knot in a private Nikah ceremony in Tanzania on February 7, 2025, followed by a civil wedding. Since then, they’ve been treating fans to a visual journey of their romance, with the latest being a countdown pre-wedding display, offering glimpses into what promises to be one of Africa’s most spectacular weddings this year.
The East Meets West Love Story: How They Met
Their romance began unexpectedly during a work trip in Rwanda, according to Juma Jux. The singer had missed his flight in Kigali and couldn’t secure a business-class seat on the next one. Frustrated, he passed through the business-class section, where Priscilla Ojo noticed his irritation and “burst into laughter” at his predicament.
Understandably embarrassed, Jux admitted: “I told my team I wouldn’t talk to any of these ladies again”—until they ended up at the same hotel where they eventually got to talk and the rest, as they say it, is history.
Now the couple shuttle between Lagos and Dar es Salaam, having the privilege of experiencing both cultures as a result of their union.
Jux had notably proposed twice—first privately, then again in an elaborate family gathering in February 2025, presenting Priscilla with a custom double-sized diamond ring. “I wanted to do it properly in front of those who matter most,” Jux had said in a Instagram Live session on that day.
Explaining the Couple’s Five Pre-Wedding Photoshoots
1. The “Cultural Heritage” Shoot
Priscilla stunned in a bespoke aso-oke gown featuring Tanzanian flag colors (blue, green, yellow) woven into traditional Yoruba patterns. Jux complemented her in a regal agbada with East African motifs. This shoot was a remarkable symbolism of their cultural fusion.
2. The Cream & Brown Highlights Affair
Priscilla dazzled in a cream mermaid gown with 3D floral appliqués while Jux opted for a minimalist gold-embroidered suit. The ethereal images, styled by Chioma Goodhair, have garnered almost 300 thousand likes in 5 days.
3. Ranch Love Aesthetic
Breaking from tradition, the couple released a viral video and photo series featuring playful poses while riding on a horse in an unknown location. They were attired in cowboy core regalia (white tank tops, blue cowboy jeans and boots to match and a cowboy hat each).
Priscilla and hubby Juma went simple for this look, opting for the classic pre-wedding attire that modern couples often wore. The Nigerian influencer wore a baby pink gown while her beau wore a simple white long sleeved shirt and trouser to match.
5. The Power Couple Aesthetic
The latest and final pre-wedding look gave off a Beyoncé-Jay Z vibe– at least according to netizens who commented how stunning the look and the meticulous preparation the couple had taken to induce anticipation for their big day.
