An ex-Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in connection with a purported N22bn fraud.

According to an EFCC source, Mamman, who had been a minister under President Buhari from 2019 to 2021, had been arrested and detained at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, May 10 after he had showed up for questioning.

Mamman had been sacked in 2021 after Buhari shuffled his cabinet.

Meanwhile, current investigations have uncovered properties in Nigeria and overseas allegedly linked to the suspects, together with millions of naira and dollars.

Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson is yet to make a statement regarding this matter.
