Last month, reports came out that Paul pogba might be able to participate in this year’s world cup game to hold in Qatar, due to the injury he sustained whilst training in Los Angeles.
Dierdre Deschamps, France’s head coach has announced that Pogba will feature in the 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar. Pogba who recently transferred from Manchester United to Juventus sustained an injury in which the lateral meniscus in his right knee was torn.
Two treatment plans were presented to him, the first is that they might suture the lesion and that might see him miss the world cup as he would have to take five to four months off the field. The second is that a piece of the meniscus might have to be removed. Pogba obviously went with the second treatment plan.
Dierdre in an interview, stated confidently, that he does not doubt that pogba will participate in the world cup games, as he has been speaking with Pogba. Pogba has 11 goals to his name in 91 appearances before France.
“His participation in the World Cup is not up for question,” Deschamps said about Pogba.
“We’re talking about important players.
“They’re key, they have got a lot of experience, they’re leaders.
“They need to be there, but we can never be sure. That is why we need to make sure our young players are ready.
“Of course, I’m in contact with Paul, and at the moment his involvement at the World Cup is not in doubt.”
France won the world cup twice, in 1998 and 2018.
