Governor Siminalayi Fubara, of Rivers State had on Monday, October 30, stated that he had not committed any offence to justify his impeachment by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Fubara, while addressing his supporters at the Assembly Complex had said that his opponents should all come out and announce to the Rivers people, the offense he mat have committed to deserve impeachment.
The governor, who gave assurances to the people of the state that they would get the dividends of democracy had said that he would speak on the matter in due time.
Channels Television had made a report that a fresh crisis had overwhelmed the Rivers State Assembly amidst rumours of a possible impeachment procedure against Fubara as the House on Monday, October 30 removed its leader, Edison Ehie from seat.
The House members headed by their Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, had served an impeachment notice to Fubara before they ran away to a safe place as tear gas was fired outside the Complex.
This recent development is coming hours after a fire broke out at the Assembly Complex on Sunday night.
It is no news that there is an apparent bad blood between Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike who is presently the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.
