Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is celebrating a major career milestone as she clocks 27 years in the Nigerian movie industry.

The award-winning star took to her Instagram page to mark the occasion, sharing fresh photos of herself while reflecting on her long journey in acting and filmmaking.

Popularly known as the box office queen, Akindele attributed her staying power in the industry to God’s grace, dedication, and relentless hard work.

Funke Akindele Marks 27 Years In Nollywood

According to her, the nearly three-decade journey has shaped her mindset and reinforced the values needed for sustained success.

“God’s favour and hard work have brought me this far. It’s been 27 years and counting in the acting and filmmaking industry,” she wrote. “The journey has taught me that consistency, discipline, and staying focused are key to continuous success.”

Expressing gratitude for the progress she continues to record, Akindele thanked God for elevating her career and also acknowledged the unwavering support from her fans.

“Thank You, Lord, for the greater heights You are taking me to,” she added. “To my darling fans, I see your reviews, and I truly appreciate the continuous love and support you’re showing to BEHIND THE SCENES. Eyes on the prize, no distractions, thank you.”

Funke Akindele remains one of Nollywood’s most influential figures, with a career defined by record-breaking films, impactful storytelling, and consistent relevance across generations.
