Several students are at present, staging a protest in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, over the kidnapping of five of their schoolmates.
The students of Federal University, Gusau, had barricaded the Zaria-Sokoto highway, frustrating motorists and passengers using the road.
The rate of abductions is quite on the high side in Zamfara State as numerous reports have been made about the alarming cases of banditry.
The Federal University Gusua had yet to issue a statement as at the time of filing this report.
