Real Madrid striker Gonzalo García is achieving great success at the FIFA Club World Cup. Head coach Xabi Alonso drew the 21-year-old forward Raúl González after the youngster’s groundbreaking performances from the bench.
A youth player who stood out, García was given a more prominent role this summer after Mbappé missed the set with gastroenteritis. The young Spaniard did not let go of the chance and scored goals in the group matches against Al Hilal and Red Bull Salzburg, and he also provided an assist in the victory over Pachuca.
Alonso told the press that García has good instincts and excellent movement. “He brings me memories of Raúl,” Alonso affirmed. “He is not changing his place; he is always there, waiting for what is due to him, and he races for them. I am fully satisfied for him.”
Since it is assumed that Mbappé will be back soon, there has been a lot of gossip about García’s fate—whether he is going to stay in the first team or be sent on loan next season. However, Alonso did not give a conclusive opinion, saying, “The Club World Cup may show some things to you, but the decision has not been made yet.”
Presently, García is concentrating on the job at hand. He confirmed, “To wear this club’s colors is a dream.” “I am enjoying it fully and would like to have a lot of goals in this shirt,” he added.
