Reverend Father Hyacinth, the newly inaugurated Governor of Benue state, has begun some cleansing to remove every trace of the previous administration in the state, as he has sacked all the political appointees who served under Ortom’s administration, in various ministries, departments and agencies ordering that their positions be handed over to the most senior civil servants in their offices.
This information was revealed to journalists, by the Chief press secretary to the governor, Mr Terso Kula, after an emergency meeting.
The first five political Appointees of the new administration were present alongside the top civil servants who are responsible for payment and management of salaries and pension.
According to Kula, Gov Hyacinth decided to take such decisions, after he paid unannounced visits to the ministries departments and agencies, where he discovered that most of these ministries do meet not meet up with expectation, he discovered a-lot of shady activities, gross incompetence, lack of organization, lackadaisical and nonchalant attitudes by the management of these sectors.
Reacting to the news, residents of Benue state, have commended the new governor for his dedication and compassion to the people of Benue state, seeing how he’s been paying unscheduled visits to several ministries to monitor the work being carried out. This has spurred the newly appointed heads to carryout their duties with the knowledge that they can be removed at anytime if they fail to meet up with the expectations.
Civil servants and pensioners have also hailed his appointment of top civil servants as those in charge of salaries and pension, will be effectively paid going forwards.
