In a statement made public by the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Isah Galadanci, Sokoto state has lifted the curfew that was imposed on the state last Saturday.
It could be recalled that the curfew was put in place to curtail rioters who were protesting the arrest of the murderers of the Sokoto Christian girl, Deborah Samuel.
The curfew was lifted up after dialoguing with security operatives and stakeholders of the state. The governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has encouraged every resident of the state to remain calm and has also banned all forms of match or parade indefinitely.
He urged them to live peacefully and thanked them for their cooperation and understanding.
