Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum has expressed shock over the recent violent activities in Borno State by the supporters of the All Progressive Party (APC) in the recent election campaign in the state.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Isa Gusau, he strongly Condemns such violent acts in the state and has ordered the state Commissioner of Police, to carry out all necessary investigations to apprehend the perpetrators behind such evil Acts.

He also advised political parties to abstain from using Violence to campaign, as they should be able to campaign without using force

“I have received reports on renewed acts of political violence in the state,” the statement quoted Zulum as saying, adding, “I strongly condemn these extremely unnecessary acts of violence and hereby direct the Commissioner of Police and the DSS to immediately investigate and ensure anyone involved is made to face the full wrath of the law.”

” I urge all stakeholders of political parties, in particular, party executives, candidates, and campaign teams to desist from any form of violence and to campaign peacefully and following all provisions of the electoral act and laws of Borno State,” Zulum was quoted as saying.

Elections and violence are not anything new in Nigeria, reports have it that the Labour party women’s leader for Borno State was killed.
