The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the reported murder of a councillor, Stanley Nwaeze and a youth leader, Arinze Ugochukwu by suspected gunmen at Isu in the Onicha Local Government Area of the state.
DSP Joshua Ukandu, the Command’s spokesperson had confirmed the incident on Tuesday, June 4 in Abakaliki.
The DCP had condemned the brutal killing, saying that the command received the report of the incident at about 6:45 pm on Tuesday.
“The incident is confirmed and the police are investigating the matter,” Ukandu had said.
Prior to his death, the deceased councillor, Nwaeze had represented Enuagu ward, while Ugochukwu had been the local government coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. The late Ugochukwu had hailed from Amagu Mgbom village in Isu community.
