Report has it that, Solomon a policeman who belongs to the Counter Terrorising Unit attached to the Delta State Government House, was shot dead after they fell into an ambush while on a mission at a location in Rivers State.

According to a source, he and some members of the unit were sent out on a mission in Rivers State on Friday, unfortunately, they fell into an ambush of some gunmen, the gunmen shot sporadically at their vehicle, and one of the bullets hit Solomon, the others were able to escape.

The police Spokesperson for Delta State, Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the Incident, according to her, it is true that they fell into an ambush, but they were not the target, they just happened to have run into them, while operating.

She said, “Yes, I can confirm that it happened. He was not the target. What happened was that the gunmen were operating when their convoy ran into them.

“In the process, he was hit by a stray bullet. The incident occurred in Rumuji, in the Emuoha Local Government Area section of the East-West Road.”

Solomon was one of the policemen who escaped after the Governor’s Entourage was Attacked in February, it’s unfortunate to have lost him in such a manner.
