The unknown gunmen squad of Nigeria has struck again as they kill three policemen at a checkpoint in Akani, Enugu State.
Eyewitnesses said that the Gunmen invaded the police checkpoint which is very close to the Akani police station, and shot three policemen. And from all indications, it seems the policemen were closely monitored by the Gunmen.
According to another witness, the police were busy extorting innocent okada men of their money to even notice any strange activities going on, and the criminals on seeing that the policemen were not concentrated took advantage of the situation and attacked them, the Gunmen succeeded in killing three of them, three managed to escape, the gunmen then carted their guns
“If you see what they do here, you won’t pity them. How can you be at a checkpoint in an area that has witnessed several attacks and you will relax and be collecting money and giving change to Okada riders.”
“Unfortunately, these criminals took advantage and attacked them. They shot three dead and three others escaped with some gunshots. The hoodlums carted away their guns and took Ugboka – Nara Unateze road and escaped.”
