Gunmen have reportedly declared a 10-day sit-at-home to mourn one of their colleagues killed by security agents in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. This is because the security situation in the LGA has been worsening.
In a warning the gunmen had issued, they ordered all the residents of the area to desist from going to a well-known market, “Eke Ozzi” at Ogutu, the risk the wrath of the infamous group wreaking havoc in the council area.
This order, of course, had sent the residents of the area into panic, with an anonymous resident revealing that individuals were being killed daily in the council area.
School authorities in the council area had been warned to dismantle all Nigerian flags hoisted at all the secondary and primary schools in the local government while also cautioning schools using the green and white color on their uniforms to change to other colors or risk the wrath of the group.
This sit-at-home order is coming after the recently renewed onslaught on their members by operatives of Ebubeagu and Nigerian soldiers which led to the burning of certain residential houses of some of their leaders at Imufu, Umuagama, and Aguibeje communities in the LGA.
