Erling Haaland has extended his stay at Manchester City until the summer of 2034 after committing his future to the club with a new contract. The contract, said to be worth £500,000 weekly, secures the Norwegian frontman as one of the highest paid athletes in world football and quashes speculation linking him with a switch to Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old, whose former salary was £375,000 a week, was thrilled to sign on the dotted line to continue his stay at the Etihad Stadium. “I am very pleased to sign this new contract and spend more time at this great club.
His extraordinary influence, commitment and professionalism make him one of the best strikers in world football. He’s still young and will improve with Pep Guardiola.”
Haaland, who has already rewritten the goal-scoring record books since signing in 2022, will instead take care of adding to the club’s decoration weight in 2023 and beyond and their hopes for more trophy-winning success this season on the continent and in England.
