The group also issued a warning earlier, stating their intention to execute an Israeli civilian captive should Israel carry out further airstrikes on civilian residences without prior warning.
Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Hamas’ armed wing, justified this threat by asserting that they had adhered to Islamic principles by ensuring the safety of Israeli captives. However, he attributed this ominous move to Israel’s recent escalation in airstrikes, which have resulted in the deaths of civilians within their homes, without prior notification.
