Harrysong is not the first musician to receive political appointments in Nigeria.

Nigerian artists like Iyanya, Richard Mofe Damijo, Onyeka Onwenu, Mercy Johnson, Dayo Adeneye and so much more are some of the Nigerian celebrities who have exited the glamour of the showbiz world to work in different capacities in government.

Harrysong is both a singer and a songwriter who rose to fame after his tribute song to Nelson Mandela, which won the “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” at The Headies Award Ceremony in 2013.
