The headies award has released its long list of nominations for the 15th headies awards which is slated to hold on the 4th of September, 2022 in Atlanta Georgia.
The list has both voting categories and non-voting categories. Simi, Tems, Tiwa savage, Teni, and Niniola were nominated for Best female artiste while Adekunle Gold, Burna Boy, Davido, Flavour, Olamide, and Wizkid were nominated for the best male artiste.
Portable was nominated alongside AV, Fave, Magic, and Ugoccie for the rookie of the year award.
The next rated award nominations included Ayra Starr, Bnxn (formerly called Buju), Lojay, Ruger, and Zinoleesky.
Olamide’s Carpe Diem bagged a nomination for best rap album and album of the year. while Made in Lagos by wizkid and A better time by Davido got nominated for the Best afrobeat album.
Peru by fireboy was also nominated for the song of the year award alongside Essence by Wizkid, High by Adekunle Gold, and others.
Angelina Kidjoe was placed in the hall of fame.
The award night which would be held outside the shores of Nigeria and the nomination list had sparked different reactions from fans.
