Dignitaries, guests and hundreds of mourners have began arriving at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State for the funeral service for the former CEO of Access Bank Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Doreen, and eldest son, Chizzy.
The state commissioner of police, Olatunji Disu, was spotted by newsmen leading security men to the venue.
Members of the clergy, traditional rulers from Omoeke, Wigwe’s hometown and monarchs from Isiokpo, in general, are already seated at the time of making this report.
Security has been tightened within Isiokpo and its surroundings for the burial ceremony.
Herbert Wigwe, his wife, son, and a former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, had died on February 9, 2024, in a helicopter crash that happened close to a border town between California and Nevada, in the United States.
