Hong Kong Attacks UK’s Call for Security Law to be Cut

The Hong Kong Authorities had on Friday, May 26 criticized the British government’s call for China’s imposed national security law to be scrapped.
According to Britain, the security law is being used to victimise, silence and dishonour pro-democracy opposition figures.

This news is coming after James Cleverly, Britain’s Foreign Secretary, wrote a six-monthly report on Hong Kong, highlighting how at a U.N. hearing in February, Hong Kong authorities had used the security law to attack opposition figures, several of whom are either in jail or forced into exile.

However, the Hong Kong authorities had in a statement, stated that they strongly refuted, disapproved and firmly dismissed the defamatory remarks and ill-intentioned political attacks by the British, with a government official spokesman advising Britain to stop meddling in Hong Kong affairs, of which were purely China’s internal matters.
