The Nigeria National Assembly is urging President Tinubu to sack the heads of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

This call follows allegations of corruption and sabotage against the NNPC and NMDPRA, including claims of importing inferior fuel and de-marketing campaigns against the Dangote Refinery.

Deputy Spokesman Philip Agbese stated that the House finds the actions of NNPC and NMDPRA “condemnable” and “unacceptable.” He emphasized the need for an investigation into the allegations and the removal of the leadership to ensure economic stability.

The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, recently led a delegation to the Dangote refinery and Petrochemicals Company, highlighting the House’s commitment to supporting key industries. Abbas assured that the House is working to create a more business-friendly environment to attract local and international investors.

The House’s call for removal of the NNPC and NMDPRA leadership aims to address the oil crisis, promote transparency, and support the growth of the nation’s key industries.
