Actor and producer Afeez Owo has praised his wife and colleague, Mide, for her patience and partnership, describing her as a wonderful spouse who is neither harsh nor “wicked” at home or in public.
In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, Afeez reflected on their 22-year-long marriage, sharing insights into their unique and unconventional pet names.
He said, “I call her Iya Alekuleja, and she calls me Baba Elere. Those aren’t the usual pet names like dear or honey, but it works for us because of the closeness we share. Our marriage isn’t the kind where the husband has to be overly strict or the wife has to remain overly calm; we’ve built it on balance, and God has been faithful to us.”
Expressing his gratitude, he added, “22 years of marriage is no small thing. Ajoke, thank you for putting up with me. I swear to God, my wife is not a wicked woman, whether at home or in public.”
Afeez and Mide have been married since 2003 and are blessed with two daughters.
