From a small base in Elewuro, Akobo Ojurin, Mrs. Kolawole Temilade has spent over five years building a business that combines fashion retail with financial services, offering unisex wears, bags, shoes, and POS transactions to her customers.
Her enterprise, Temilade Multi Venture, reflects both her passion for entrepreneurship and her determination to succeed independently.
Speaking with our correspondent on Friday, March 27, she shared what inspired her journey into business.
“Because I love to be my own boss,” she said, explaining the motivation behind starting her venture.
Over the years, she has gradually grown the business, ensuring that her products and services remain accessible to customers within her community. She noted that one of the core strengths of her business is its affordability and the passion she puts into it.
“My business is been special because I run it with passion and it affordable for everyone,” she explained.
Despite her progress, Mrs. Temilade described her journey as one filled with significant hurdles. Financial limitations, difficulties securing a suitable business location, and the risk of losing goods have all been part of her experience as a business owner.
She recounted a particularly painful challenge that came after years of hard work and saving.
“Financial problem and not able to get a good location for my business and having to work hard to save and after all that you bought goods and overnight everything is been taken away from you in the name of robbery one of my great challenges ever since I start this business,” she said.
Her experience highlights the realities many small business owners face, especially in environments where security challenges can disrupt progress and wipe out investments overnight.
Even with these setbacks, Mrs. Temilade has remained committed to her business and continues to push forward, serving customers at her location in Elewuro, off Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan, Oyo State.
She also took time to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs, stressing the importance of faith and self-confidence in the journey of building a business.
“Pray towards it first and believe in yourself,” she advised.
Her business, which also offers POS services alongside fashion items, has helped her stay connected to her community while providing essential services to customers in the area. She continues to grow her customer base and maintain her presence through both physical sales and social media engagement via TikTok @temilade1237.
