Kelechi Nwakali’s club, SD Huesca is now on the verge of appearing in court for the unjustful dismissal of Nwakali from the teama

Recall that a statement was put out on Wednesday by the club saying that the 23-year-old has no contract with them anymore. The player responded with a press releasing stating how he was wrongfully treated by the club sporting director when he was called to represent Nigeria at the 2022 AFCON tournament.

In his statement, Nwakali said that the Sporting Director, Ruben Garcia didn’t want him to go for the competition saying that “it’s not an important tournament” and that he might not represent the club again if he went. He also said that he has been under constant pressure from the club to sign a new contract and his refusal has led to the club delaying the payment of his wages.

The controversial issue between the former Alcorcon player and Huesca is now being looked into by the Spanish Football Players Union and the Union have decided to take SD Huesca to court.

After the communication with Huesca Sports Society, the Spanish Football Players Association is willing to challenge Nwakali contract termination. AFE released a press statement on Thursday saying that goes thus:

Due to an event, a disciplinary file was opened about a player who is now fired by his club. Given the different informations going around, the AFE will now clarify the dismissal of Kelechi Nwakali before the court of Huesca with the aim of protecting the right of football players in Spain.

The Union clearly understands that the method of dismissal adopted by the club has violated the labor rights of Kelechi Nwakali and the Union will do everything possible to defend the player’s legitimate interest.

The Spanish Football Players Union is now waiting for the response of the Segunda Division club.
