In light of their divorce proceedings, Nigerian musician Ahmedu Obiabo, also known as Blackface, wrote an open letter to his former Plantashun Boiz bandmate Innocent Idibia (2Baba) and his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the 51-year-old composer shared the letter on his X account, imploring both parties to be civil despite the problems they may be facing.
He emphasised that as role models, they should always set positive examples for the younger generation to follow and for the older generations to be proud of.
“I bid to you both good tidings Mr & Mrs Idibia. I am reaching out to you guys in this time to remind us to show decorum and be civil with whatever proceedings you may be going through.
“As role models, we should always set good examples for this generation to emulate, and the older generations to be proud l.
“Let’s keep it together in the family as every relationship has it’s ups and downs.
“I pray God gives you both the strength to scale through this.
“My regards to your families and my love to your kids. With Love Blackfacenaija”.
It should be noted that on Monday, January 27, 2025, the well-known musician and performer, 2Baba, revealed his separation from his wife, Annie.
Annie and Tuface, one of Nigeria’s most recognisable celebrity couples, married in 2012 and have two daughters.
In an Instagram post, the African Queen singer revealed that he and his wife had been living apart for a while and had begun the process of getting a divorce.
The post was later removed, but 2Baba subsequently shared a video to confirm that the information in the post was correct.
