Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate for Kogi central senatorial district in the 2023 general election has claimed Governor Yahaya Bello offered her up to N70 million to step down.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had made this revelation during an appearance on Arise TV on Wednesday morning.
According to her, Bello had originally offered her N50 million to give way for his anointed candidate.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had said:
“In 2018, prior to joining the SDP, I was very much active in the APC.”
“The Governor urged me, together with nine other aspirants at that period to step down.
He offered some us money. I was also offered money.
He offered me N50 million initially but I turned it down. He thereafter offered me N70m to stand down for his anointed candidate who was as at then, a Senator.”
“However, unfortunately for him, I told him I wasn’t in the race for governorship money. I simply want to make an impact on my people and that provoked him.
“Yahaya Bello hates being dared. He always wants his words to be law.”
