The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, for assaulting a policeman on the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagoon Saturday, May 13.
The IGP’s order is coming as a reaction to a video that went viral, where Kuti was seen pushing and slapping a policeman whose identity was yet to be ascertained.
In the video, the policeman could be seen staying calm in the situation as Kuti repeatedly slaps and shoves him, while shouting ‘You dey craze? You dey mad? In his face.
Meanwhile, a statement released by the Afrobeat singer claimed that the policeman reportedly attempted to kill him and members of his family.
No explanation has been given for the particular action of the policeman.
