President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he would be free from blackmail after the completion of his tenure as Nigeria’s president because he doesn’t own properties outside the country.
The president made the declaration on Monday Night, 9 January, at a state banquet,
organized in his honor in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
Buhari had also remarked that despite all the challenges Nigeria faced, he had tried his possible best to ensure that the situations were changed to better for his fellow
Nigerians. He had then encouraged Nigerians to remain patriotic, saying “as I have previously said more than 30 years ago, we have no other country than Nigeria, we must all stay here and salvage it together.”
The president had also expressed happiness that normalcy had returned to the affected states in north-east Nigeria while pointing out that the potent and pervasive threat of terrorism was the most significant security challenge his administration had undertaken almost eight years ago.
