A few days ago, Jack Wilshere, the ex-Arsenal player, emotionally announced that he was retiring from football not because of his age as he is only 30 but due to a series of injuries he has sustained and which set his career back, struggling with these injuries as a midfielder, he decided to end his career as a player.
There is a popular saying that when one door closes, another opens. To everyone’s surprise, ending his football career as a player doesn’t seem to be really an end to his football career as he received another nice offer that left his fans in high spirits.
Jack Wilshere has received a new appointment from Arsenal as the head coach of the U18 side. As we all know, Wilshere is no newcomer to Arsenal after graduating from the academy. Between 2008 and 2018 he made 197 appearances for the club and won the FA Cup twice. Wilshere is assisted by Adam Burchall, who is also a graduate of the Academy. He becomes Wilshere’s assistant coach for the U18 team and manager of the U17 team. Wilshere is definitely happy with the opportunity
It’s a great honor to play this role,” said the former England international. “It’s no secret that I love this club. I love what we stand for and you know I’ve spent a large part of my life in this academy, some of the best days of my life.
“It’s a big opportunity for me and I’m ready. I’m hungry and can’t wait to help these young players thrive and be the best they can be on and off the pitch.
“It’s a special feeling to be part of the Arsenal family. It never left me, even though I moved on a few years, my heart was still with Arsenal. I can’t wait to get started and help these young players thrive with a great team around me.”
Congratulations Wilshere
