Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has broken her silence on rumors circulating on social media that her husband, Olu Jacobs, has passed away. This marks the second time rumors about the death of the renowned Nigerian actor and film executive, whose real name is Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, have spread online.

Speaking with TheNEWS and PMNEWS this evening, Joke Silva debunked the rumors, stating, “My husband is alive and doing just fine.” Despite her statement, confusion continues to swirl as fans react and tributes pour in on social media, with many unsure what news is real or fake.

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into a state of uncertainty, with initial reports claiming that Olu Jacobs, 81, had died on Sunday morning, 30th June, after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. Tributes have been pouring in from across the globe, with many of Jacobs’ colleagues and fans expressing their sorrow and admiration for the iconic actor.

However, there has been no official confirmation from his family or close associates regarding his death. It’s worth noting that Jacobs has been battling dementia for some time, and his wife, Joke Silva, previously disclosed in a viral video that his poor health had significantly changed him.
