Barcelona Left back, Jodie Alba who has been in the club since 2012, has said that he’s ready to take a pay cut to help Barcelona abide by the la Liga financial regulation, owing to Barcelona’s financial crisis, which Joan Laporta, Barcelona President said that he’s ready to offload some players to help the club with their financial crisis.
Jordie Alba’s contract is to expire in 2024, when asked if he would stay in Barcelona till his contract expires, he said yes, he further said that although he’s not playing as much as he used to, he’s always very supportive of his teammates from the bench whenever he’s not playing, even though he’s not playing very well, he still considers himself lucky to be allowed to play sometimes
“Alba told Marca: “Of course. I feel qualified, I think I’m at a good level.
“I’m not playing every minute, but when I go out I try to do my best. And when I’m not playing, I try to help all my teammates by supporting them from the bench. It’s a new role for me because I’ve been lucky enough to play a lot of minutes. This year, not so much, but I am seeing some minutes and I’m happy with my role.
To reaffirm his love for Barcelona, the 33-year-old said that he’s ready to lower his salary and he is happy to do that. He also commented on the false rumors that have been spread about him by the media, according to him, he is a very calm person d he has pure intentions to help the club.
“Yes [I would lower my salary]. It’s a club decision and I’ve always helped when asked.
“Many lies have been told in the press, but in the end, I have always been there, no one can say otherwise. Some things hurt, but you have to know how to live with it. I know my truth and I am very calm. I intend to help the club and that both parties are happy.
