Jennifer Odonwodo, widow of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, is mourning again following the passing of her father-in-law, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, just one year after losing her husband.
In a heartfelt tribute shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Jennifer revealed that she had visited her father-in-law in Enugu only weeks before his death. Shortly afterward, she received a call from her mother-in-law informing her of his passing.
She described Ozor Luke Odonwodo as a kind and loving man who lived a full life, always placing family first. Despite the double loss, Jennifer found comfort in her faith, drawing strength from the promise of resurrection cited in John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15.
She wrote, “Barely a month ago, I was with you in Enugu. A few days later, my mother-in-law called, asked about me and the boys, then told me her husband had gone to join my husband. I screamed but had to pull myself together as she began to cry.
“Ozor Luke Odonwodo loved me dearly, and I am grateful to have spent time with him during his final days.
“He lived to a ripe old age, fulfilled his responsibilities, sacrificed greatly for his family, and enjoyed the fruits of his labor.
“To Reme and all of us, this has been a lot to bear in one year, but I pray God gives us the strength to keep going.
“Farewell, Father and Son. You are deeply missed, but we hold on to the hope of resurrection in the scriptures. May your souls rest in perfect peace until we meet again.”
Recently, Jennifer and her family commemorated the first anniversary of Junior Pope’s death with a remembrance ceremony.
