Fresh crisis has overwhelmed the Rivers State House of Assembly amidst unverified reports of an impending impeachment procedure against the State Governor, Sim Fubara as the House removed its leader, Edison Ehie, on Monday, October 30.
In spite of this news, the governor had stormed the Assembly Complex while House members ran for safety as tear gas was shot outside the Complex.
As at the time of filing this report by 9:00 am (GMT+1) on Monday morning, a protest is current being staged outside the Complex.
This development is coming hours after a fire broke out at the Assembly Complex on Sunday night, October 29.
It has not been ascertained if the fire was connected with the political complication but reports of an estrangement between Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike who is the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister have been circulating a while now.
