Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has urged Nigerian Gen Zs to learn how to present their requests whenever they want help from older family members. In a humorous video he shared online, the actor expressed his shock at the way young people engage the older generation, especially when begging for assistance.
Kanayo added that, when approaching elders, whether uncles or older persons for that matter, diplomacy has to be applied. He jokingly said this in relation to a Generation Z asking for sponsorship to undertake a music project, and then responding with Chella Boi’s “Nyash Na Nyash” choice, which would do little to convince older relatives of anything.
His Advice? Gen Zs should work on how they communicate with the elderly for them to get the support they want.
