Ghadafi Selah, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead in Kano yesterday shortly after being rescued unconscious from a deep gutter.
Kano State Fire Department spokesman Saminu Abdulahi attested to the incident in a press statement, he said
“Today, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at around 07:26, our formation received a distress call from a certain Malam Abdulkadir.
“He reported that a man had fallen down a gutter next to a veterinary clinic in Tarauni, Zaria Road.”
According to Abdullahi, Fire Service men on emergency duty were immediately dispatched to the area, they got to the area around 7:34 am and found the alleged victim trapped unconscious in the gutter, he was brought out and was confirmed dead, the body was handed to Bashir Abdullahi, the police inspector of the Zaria Street Police Division.
This incident is said to have been caused by heavy rains last Sunday, during which the victim fell into a large drain and became trapped.
