Kano Schools Get 2-Week Sallah Holiday

This two-week holiday applies comprehensively to both day and boarding schools throughout Kano State. For boarding students, parents and guardians have been explicitly advised by the education ministry to ensure their children are picked up by the early hours of June 4, 2025, facilitating a smooth transition into the Eid-el-Kabir holiday.

The Kano State Education Ministry strongly emphasized that this Sallah break decision aligns fully with the established 2024/2025 academic calendar, confirming that the overall schedule remains unchanged despite the festive interruption.

The ministry affirmed strict adherence to all academic and holiday schedules. In the official statement, Ali Makoda, the Commissioner of Education for Kano State, issued a crucial appeal to all parents and guardians, urging them to ensure that students resume promptly after the holiday period. Commissioner Makoda stressed the importance of compliance with the official resumption date for a smooth continuation of the academic term.

Concluding the announcement, he extended sincere well-wishes to all Kano students and staff, hoping for a peaceful and successful Sallah break.
