The Kano State government has just debarred two college principals for negligence of duty.
The school principals in question include the French Bilingual College and the Chinese Bilingual College, respectively in Kwankwaso, Madobi Local Government Area of the State.
Umar Haruna, the State Commissioner for Education, had explained in a statement issued by Balarabe Kiru, the Ministry’s Director Public Enlightenment, stating that the suspended principals had not been present in their respective schools when the team of take-up inspectors paid a visit to survey the beginning of the 2023/2024 first term school session.
According to the statement, the Commissioner approved the posting of Umar Sabo to sit-in as Principal in French Bilingual Collage and Isyaku Umar Abdullahi as sit-in Principal, Chinese Bilingual Collage Kwankwaso.
The statement had disclosed that the inspection team led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Kubra Imam had found that the students of the two Colleges had not been served dinner on Sunday night and their breakfast had also not been ready on Monday morning when the Inspectors visited.
The Commissioner had expressed disappointment over the indifference shown by the two Principals and had consequently ordered them to handover the Schools’ affairs to the new sit-in Principals and report to the ministry pending an inquiry.
The statement had also cautioned all school authorities to avoid any act that would subvert the present administration’s effort in boosting the education sector.
