Katsina, Nigeria – In a bold move to combat rising banditry, the Katsina State Police Command has announced a significant reward of N50 million for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of two notorious bandit kingpins.

The two individuals, identified as Modi Modi and Jan Kare, are known to operate primarily in the Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas of the state, causing fear and disruption among residents.

Police Committed to Restoring Peace and Security:

Speaking on behalf of the Command, Police Public Relations Officer ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu emphasized their commitment to making Katsina a safer place. He explained that the substantial reward demonstrates the police’s dedication to ensuring justice and highlights the collective responsibility everyone shares in maintaining security.

This initiative, he added, aims to strengthen security operations and curb the activities of these criminal groups. Importantly, the police stressed that the identities of informants and all provided information will be kept confidential to ensure their safety.

Community Collaboration is Key:

The Katsina State Police is urging all residents to come forward with any details that could aid authorities in apprehending these individuals responsible for kidnapping and banditry. Working together, the statement emphasizes, the state can be made safer for everyone.

Safety First:

The statement reiterates the paramount importance placed on the well-being of Katsina residents. The state government, police command, and other security agencies are united in their commitment to taking decisive action against criminals who disrupt the peace and stability of the community.

How You Can Help:

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Katsina State Police Command Headquarters, their nearest security agency headquarters, or call the provided numbers: 07015142112 and 08023871144.

Together, we can create a safer Katsina for all.

This initiative by the Katsina Police Command demonstrates a proactive approach towards tackling the issue of banditry in the state. The substantial reward serves as a strong incentive for individuals with valuable information to come forward, potentially leading to the apprehension of these dangerous criminals. Additionally, the emphasis on confidentiality provides assurance to potential informants, encouraging their cooperation.

While offering financial rewards can be a controversial approach, it can be argued that in this situation, the potential benefits of capturing these individuals outweigh the financial cost. Ultimately, the success of this initiative will depend on the level of cooperation and information sharing within the community. By working together, residents and law enforcement can create a safer environment for everyone in Katsina.
