American pop star Katy Perry is reportedly under investigation by authorities in Australia following allegations of sexual assault made by actress Ruby Rose.
According to reports, Rose had earlier taken to social media to accuse the singer of assaulting her at a nightclub in Melbourne nearly two decades ago. The posts, which have since been deleted, sparked widespread attention online.
On Tuesday, the actress — known for her role in the TV series Orange is the New Black — stated that she had formally submitted her report to the police and would no longer comment publicly on the matter.

While confirming an ongoing investigation, Victoria state police did not mention Perry by name but acknowledged they were looking into a historical case.
“We are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,” a police spokesperson said.
“As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage,” the statement added.
In response, a representative for Perry strongly denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and harmful.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are also dangerous, reckless lies,” the statement read.
“Ms Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
The development adds to recent media attention surrounding Perry, who is widely known for hit songs like “Hot n Cold,” “Roar,” and “I Kissed a Girl.”
