Nigerian investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko.
The drama began after a viral video showed Regina in a heated confrontation, with reports alleging that her husband had sent thugs after her. In the clip, the actress’s brother was seen defending her as tensions escalated.
Reacting to the saga, Kemi Olunloyo took to her Instagram page to share what she claimed was Ned Nwoko’s version of events. According to her, the politician denied being at home when the incident took place and accused Regina of causing chaos in their residence.
“Senator Ned Nwoko told me he was not home on Friday when Regina started destroying cars and windows in the house. He travelled to Warri. Munir, aka Moon, had a slight fever with a temperature up. Regina, being impaired and incoherent, refused to allow the home nurse to attend to Munir, their older son. He said that Gina slapped two nannies and her own driver. He then told me his driver had to return from Delta to take Moon to the hospital. He said he wasn’t at home when Regina’s brother, ‘Sammy and company,’ came to fight in his house,” Kemi claimed.
Olunloyo further alleged that Ned Nwoko accused the actress of substance abuse and said her behaviour had become increasingly erratic.
“Senator Ned is angry with Regina for what she is doing with substance abuse. He wants the best for her, and she should think about the children. She thinks that these drugs make her happy, and yet, they are ruining her life without her realising it. Ned told me that even her friends are playing with her mind. He said he wants to be by her side knowing that she has worn him out, but this is marriage after all. He said if she continues to do the same thing, she has to go to the hospital to receive treatment. Even if she does not want to, she has to go. Otherwise, she will have wasted herself, her children, and her consciousness without realising it,” she wrote.
The journalist also claimed that Ned was disturbed by a recent incident where Regina allegedly recorded him in a private moment.
“Ned said Gina was filming him in the bathroom while he was about to urinate in the morning and didn’t know what she was thinking, and felt she was high on substances,” she added.
Kemi Olunloyo’s statements have since stirred massive reactions online, with fans divided over her claims. While some believe she might have inside information, others accuse her of interfering in a sensitive family issue.
As of now, neither Regina Daniels nor Ned Nwoko has issued an official statement addressing Kemi Olunloyo’s allegations.
