Nipsey Hussle’s killer has been found guilty of the rapper’s murder after shooting and killing him in Los Angeles minutes after a brief altercation in 2019.
After six hours of deliberations, a jury in California found 32-year-old Eric Holder guilty on Wednesday.
Born Ermias Asghedom, Hussle was shot in front of his Los Angeles clothes store. According to reports, the 33-year-old knew the murderer for a long time.
After his passing, tributes came from all corners of the music business.
Two counts of attempted manslaughter were also found against Eric Holder because two other males were shot during the incident. When he is sentenced in September, he might receive a life sentence.
He had already acknowledged killing Hussle and belonged to the same street gang. After a ten-minute altercation during which Hussle warned him about rumors that he was working with the police, according to witnesses, he left the area and later returned with two handguns.
The jury decided that the attack was premeditated despite the defense team’s claim that he did so in a “heat of passion.”
Hussle received the Humanitarian Award and Best Male Hip Hop Artist Posthumously at the 2019 BET Awards.
