Yusuf Babangida, one of the closest political allies of the NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso has re-joined the All Progressives Congress ahead of the upcoming 2023 presidential polls.
Babangida, a lawmaker representing Gwale Local Government in the Kano State House of Assembly had previously belonged to the NNPP before decamping to the APC.
Announcing his resignation from NNPP in a letter dated January 7, 2023, and addressed to the party chairman in his ward, Babangida had written,
“My decision to leave the party was motivated by the NNPP’s obvious contempt for internal democracy. The supremacy of individual whims and belligerence over and above the stakeholder’s consensus.
He had also stated that by allowing such injustice to prevail within the party, the NNPP offered him no choice but to leave the party and pursue his political journey elsewhere.
