The Lagos State government has directed the closure and suspension of all activities at the children’s section of the Wonderland tourist place in the state.

The order is coming after the electrocution of a guest at the event venue on Monday, December 26.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, in a statement after a joint inspection with the Lagos State Task Force team after the incident, remarked that the move would bar further fatalities to children who visit the event.

Mojola had also said that the facility would remain shut down until all infractions were corrected to prevent fun seekers from further exposure to risk, especially children.

The statement in part read:

“The event venue owner, Mr. Ezekiel Adamu, had declined to implement safety measures prescribed by the commission despite the several meetings at the onset of the project following an initial safety inspection exercise carried out on the venue to deliberate on safety infractions observed within the facility.”
