The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has appointed a date to deliver judgment on the petitions tendered before it after the 2023 gubernatorial polls.
The judgement will be announced on Monday, September 25.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party governorship candidate for the state made this disclosure on Saturday.
He had made a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying that he had been informed that the ruling will be delivered on Monday.
He had posted:
“We have just been told that judgement on our election petition at the tribunal will be delivered on Monday, the 25th of September.”
Rhodes-Vivour, together with the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Abdul-Azeez Adediran had approached the tribunal with their different petitions.
The petition had cited electoral fraud, among other claims, and both parties had asked the tribunal to cancel the re-election of governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate.
