The three final bidders for the Fourth Mainland Bridge construction have been revealed by the Lagos State government and will be announced before the end of 2022.
The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Public Private Partnership, PPP, Ope George, disclosed in Lagos on November 25, while revealing the names of the three shortlisted bidders as Mota–Engil (Nig & Africa) CCCC & CRBC consort; CGGC – CGC Joint Venture and CCECC & CRCCIG Consortium. He additionally said that the proposed 37km bridge will be worth between $2.5 billion and $3 billion.
According to George, the bridge is expected to become the second longest bridge in Africa, and it will feature 3 toll plazas, 9 interchanges, a 4.5km lagoon bridge, and an eco-friendly environment.
“The idea of building the Fourth Mainland Bridge was geared towards reducing heavy congestion on the 3rd Mainland Bridge; while also opening new areas for future development,” he further remarked.
