The Lagos Blue line project, which was initiated to reduce the amount of traffic in Lagos State, will soon take its course as Babajide Sanwo Olu, Lagos State President on his Instagram page announced that they’ve delivered two new trains.
He announced this by posting pictures and videos of the trains, according to him the trains have been cleared at the Port, and have been moved to the National Theatre station, where they have been fitted into the rail tracks.
He further said that with the arrival of these trains, the Lagos State transportation services is set to take up a new form.
He wrote, “Dear Lagos, we have taken delivery of two new train sets for the Blue Line Rail. These passenger trains have been cleared at the port of entry and were moved to the National Theatre station where they have been lifted onto the elevated rail tracks.
“I am indeed glad to inform the good people of Lagos that with the arrival of these train sets, we’re on course with our plans to change the face of the rail transport system in Lagos State. A greater Lagos is indeed rising.”
The Blue line train is set to run from Marina to Okokomaiko and can house 200,000
passengers daily. This is one of the promises of Governor Sanwo Olu and the system is to be powered by a separate electricity power plant which was built for this purpose.
More details regarding the Blue line project will be conveyed to the Public, as everyone is excited to see how the Lagos State transportation system will change from this.
Hopefully, this will reduce the crazy traffic system in Lagos State, and cause a free flow of movement.
Lagosians are excited about the prospect of this new initiative, to see a better Lagos
with a well-controlled transport system. One of the major issues of staying in Lagos is the bad traffic system, caused by too many vehicles on the road which hinders the free flow of cars. Most times people might have to abandon their cars and seek an
alternative means to get home.
