Joan Laporta, Barcelona president, after being voted in again, promised that the Spanish giant would be an “unstoppable” team. Laporta won with about 68% of the vote, leaving his opponent Victor Font with less than 30%. ‘ It actually makes us unstoppable. Nobody will be able to stop us. We have great times ahead of us, ‘ Laporta stated during his victory speech. He thanked members for what he called a celebration of democracy at a club owned and run by supporters.

Laporta, who was a club president from 2003 to 2010, during which period he appointed a legendary manager, Pep Guardiola, also promised to work on a stronger first team and finish the Camp Nou redevelopment.

Although at times in the recent past the club has had financial issues, Barcelona have been the major winners last season and at the moment are four points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the league table.
