Five men have been charged following the death of pop star Liam Payne, who fell from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.
Three people, Payne’s agent Roger Nores, the hotel manager, and a receptionist, were charged with negligent homicide. Two others, one of the hotel employees, and a waiter were accused of supplying drugs.
Documents filed in court indicate that Payne had been drinking alcohol and taking drugs and was left alone in his room in an altered state. Detectives believe his fall was “foreseeable” and could have been prevented.
Toxicology reports indicated that he had traces of alcohol, cocaine, and an antidepressant in his system. The accused are due to appear in court, pending the case.
