Lionel Messi produced another World Cup wondershow as Argentina came from two goals behind to see off Egypt 3-2 to set up a date in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
Yasser Ibrahim headed home to send the reigning world champions crashing behind inside three minutes, but the first half got even worse for Argentina when Messi missed a penalty, his shot brilliantly pushed away by keeper Mostafa Shobeir, before Egypt defender Mo Salah set up their second in the second period.

Argentina continued to pepper the goal though, Shobeir saved twice from the legendary number 10 and a brilliant stop denied a Julian Alvarez shot on the turn after Argentina captain Lautaro Martinez released him in space.
It was from another Messi set-piece in the 79th minute that Romero had Argentina back in the game with an emphatic header.
And in the dying embers of the match, Messi, who had been frustrating, smashed home from inside the box to draw level before Martinez supplied Enzo Fernandez with the winner in stoppage time, setting up a quarter-final against the Swiss or Colombia.
