It was a show of class by Liverpool as they outclassed Everton 4-1 in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, while Manchester City secured a hard earned 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Elsewhere at Vicarage road, Chelsea retuned to winning ways as they claimed a 2-1 success against Claudio Ranieri’s Watford.

Chelsea remain top of the Premier League standings, all thanks to Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech’s goal to secure maximum point for the league leaders putting them just a point ahead of Manchester City and two points above Liverpool

The Reds secured their ninth Premier League win this season at Goodison Park as Mohamed Salah’s brace after a Jordan Henderson’s strike, while Diogo Jota’s late finish tops a wonderful performance from Jürgen Klopp’s team.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City handed Steven Gerard his first defeat as the manager of Aston Villa with goals coming from Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva for the visitors. Ollie Watkins pulled one back for the home team, but City were able to hold on until the final whistle to secure maximum point. City continues to mount pressure on Chelsea on the top of the log with

Meanwhile, the latest defeat to Liverpool means that Rafael Benitez’s side continues their poor run of form this season, which leaves them with just five points above relegation zone.
